Search Engine Optimisation

SEO that survives contact with an algorithm update

Twenty-five services covering everything from a crawl budget problem to a manual action recovery. Each has its own page setting out what is delivered and how long it takes.

The Nexclick provides search engine optimisation for UK businesses: technical fixes, on-page work, content and link acquisition. Engagements begin with a diagnosis rather than a proposal, run as monthly retainers from £950, and report on enquiries rather than impressions. Meaningful movement on competitive terms typically takes three to six months.

What this covers

The honest version

Search performance rests on three things, and neglecting any one of them caps the other two. A site has to be crawlable and fast enough that search engines can read it properly. The pages have to answer the question someone actually typed, better than the pages currently above you. And other sites have to reference yours often enough for it to be treated as credible.

Most agencies are strong at one of those and quietly ignore the rest. The Nexclick starts by working out which of the three is your binding constraint, because pouring content onto a site with a crawling problem is money set on fire, and so is fixing render-blocking JavaScript on a site nobody links to.

What follows is the honest part: search results move over months, not weekends. Technical fixes can show inside a fortnight. New content on an established domain often takes eight to twelve weeks to settle. Competitive commercial terms take three to six months, sometimes longer. Anyone offering page one in thirty days is either guessing or planning to churn you before you notice.

Each one has its own page setting out deliverables, process, timescales and pricing model.

Who this is for

Sound familiar?

  • You rank for your own company name and almost nothing else, so only people who already know you can find you.
  • Traffic dropped after a redesign, migration or update and nobody has given you a straight explanation.
  • You are producing content steadily and it is not ranking, which usually means the problem is not the content.
  • You have been with an agency for a year, the reports look busy, and enquiries have not moved.

Who it is not for

When to spend elsewhere

  • You need enquiries this month. Paid advertising is the honest answer for that, and The Nexclick will say so.
  • You want guaranteed rankings. Nobody controls Google’s index, and anyone promising otherwise is selling you a story.
  • Your budget only stretches to one article a month in a competitive sector. We would rather tell you to save it.

The Nexclick would rather lose the enquiry than take on work that will not produce anything. Saying so on the website costs less than saying it in month four.

Deliverables

What you actually get

Things that appear on an invoice, not qualities.

Technical audit and fix list
A full crawl, index coverage analysis and Core Web Vitals field data, turned into a prioritised list where each item states the likely impact and the effort. Not a 90-page PDF export.
Keyword map, one primary phrase per page
Every target page gets one phrase it owns, so your own pages stop competing with each other. Cannibalisation is one of the most common problems we inherit and one of the least discussed.
On-page work on your priority pages
Titles, headings, internal linking, structured data and content depth on the pages that carry commercial weight — starting with the ones already ranking on page two.
Content, written or briefed
Either The Nexclick writes it, or we write the brief and your team writes it. Both work. What does not work is a keyword list handed over with no guidance.
Link acquisition
Digital PR, resource placement, supplier and industry relationships. No networks, no paid links, nothing that risks a manual action to make a monthly report look busier.
Structured data and AI search readiness
Schema that validates and matches visible content, plus answer-first page structure so you are quotable by AI answer engines as well as rankable by Google.
Monthly reporting against enquiries
Rankings and traffic are inputs. The report leads with what they produced, and says plainly where attribution is uncertain rather than claiming credit for everything.

Process

How the work runs

Timeframes are typical rather than guaranteed, and they assume we get account access and content approvals when we ask for them.

  1. 01Week 1–2

    Diagnose

Crawl, Search Console history, analytics, competitor comparison, and a look at what changed around any traffic drop. No proposal is written before this.

  2. 02Week 2–3

    Prioritise

A written plan ordered by impact against effort, with the keyword map attached so you can see exactly which page targets what.

  3. 03Month 1 onwards

    Fix and build

Technical work first because it unblocks everything else, then on-page, then content and links running in parallel on a monthly cadence.

  4. 04Monthly

    Measure and adjust

What moved, what did not, and what changes next month as a result. Where something is not working, we say so rather than reporting activity.

Reporting & ownership

What lands on your desk

  • A monthly report written in English, leading with enquiries and revenue where attribution allows.
  • A live Looker Studio dashboard you can open any day rather than waiting for month end.
  • The keyword map kept current, so you always know which page owns which phrase.
  • Full access to Search Console, analytics and every tool account — all in your name.
  • Everything produced is yours, including the content, briefs and technical documentation.

Questions

SEO questions we get asked

Eight specific to this service area. The general ones — contracts, ownership, timescales — are on the FAQ page.

How long before SEO produces enquiries rather than rankings?

Rankings usually move before enquiries do, because the first movement tends to be on lower-volume terms. Expect early ranking changes in weeks four to eight, and a measurable difference in enquiry volume somewhere between months three and six on most UK sectors. Very competitive markets take longer, and The Nexclick will tell you before starting if yours is one of them.

Do I need technical SEO if my site is quite new?

Usually less than you would think. New sites built on a modern platform are often technically fine, and the constraint is content and links instead. That is worth knowing, because technical audits are the easiest thing for an agency to sell and the easiest place to spend a budget without moving anything.

What happens to my rankings if we stop?

They do not vanish, but they decay. Technical improvements and existing content keep working. What stops is the compounding — no new pages, no new links, and competitors continuing while you do not. Most sites hold position for a few months and then slip gradually rather than falling off a cliff.

Can you fix a site someone else built badly?

Frequently, yes. The judgement is whether remediation costs less than a rebuild. Sometimes a site is so tangled — a page builder generating unusable markup, a plugin creating thousands of thin URLs — that fixing it costs more than starting again. The Nexclick will give you that number rather than quietly billing months of patching.

How do you build links without buying them?

Digital PR that gives journalists something worth covering, genuinely useful resources that attract references, supplier and trade body relationships, and reclaiming unlinked mentions of your brand. It is slower than buying, and it does not put your site one enforcement action away from disappearing.

Is SEO still worth it now that AI answers questions directly?

The work has changed rather than stopped. AI answer engines cite sources, and the pages they cite are largely the pages that rank — well-structured, clearly written, credible. What has genuinely changed is that answer-first structure and clean extractable formatting now matter more than they did. That is what our AI search optimisation service covers.

Will you work on our content or do we write it?

Either. The Nexclick writing it is faster and more consistent. Your team writing it from our briefs is cheaper and often better where deep sector knowledge matters — a solicitor writing about their own practice area will beat any agency. The one arrangement that fails is handing over a keyword list with no brief.

What do you need from us to start?

Google Search Console and analytics access, admin access to the CMS, and a named person who can approve content. That last one matters more than people expect: content stuck in a review queue is the single most common reason an SEO timeline slips.
